Can You Tell What I'm Thinking About?

Don't you just love going through seed catalogs? I've been poring over these and dreaming of gardening. Of course, dream gardens are a lot easier than real ones. We raised several tomatoes last year, and a little zuchinni, along with a few cantaloupe and pumpkins. This year, though, I'd like to expand and maybe try for some sweet corn and green beans. And cucumbers for pickles. And some peppers for homemade salsa. And...well, you get the picture. The soil here is good in places, and not so good in others. And then there's the rocks. You may remember me saying that one year we broke three hoe handles trying to get the ground ready. But when spring comes around, I seem to forget about that and want to give it another go.

Have any of you ever used a "green bean tower"? There's one in each of the catalogs. They are for pole beans and only take up about 5 square feet of space. They can support 12 plants and are 6 feet tall. This sounds like a clever solution. Not much hoeing (yay!) and no crawling around on the ground to pick the beans!

Are you thinking about your garden, too? Leave a comment and let us know your favorite gardening tips! :)
