Max is Pleased

Max is our Rambouillet ram.

In order to get lambs by around the end of February, you have to let the ram in with the ewes by around the end of September. So a little over a week ago we let Max in the lot with the ewes. Max is pleased.

I think this picture should be called "Sweet Nothings."

I had a wild idea the other day. I've seen several Sock Yarn-of-the-Month clubs, and I thought, "Maybe I should try that." Okay, I guess that's not really wild, but you get the idea. Anyway, I'm trying it out and have a few memberships available (I thought I should start out small). It's a three-month membership; members receive one skein of hand painted sock yarn per month for the months of October, November, and December. You can find out more here. Also, be sure to check out the Fiber Friday promotion threads going on today at Etsy. There are two: the regular Fiber Friday thread and the new Supplies for Fiber Friday thread. There's always lots of really pretty things to drool over.

New Yarns

I've kind of been on a yarn painting kick lately. I'm low on spinning fiber and rather than order more right now, I'm going to wait and see what our fiber is like that we sent off to the mill. Here's my latest sock yarns...first, "Prairie Meadow."

And then, "Wild Rose."

"Wild Rose" has longer color sections than some of my other sock yarns. I have another one in the crock pot right now that I did in longer color sections also. It's another one in fall colors--chestnut, orange, yellow, ecru, and olive green. It should be out sometime this afternoon.

Don't forget to check out Fiber Friday going on today at Etsy!
