Cold and Gray...

Cold and Gray
...pretty well describes the landscape lately. I just came in from making sure the dogs and cats have water, and also thawing out the hydrant and giving some to the horses. There's a tank heater for the sheep and goats and another for the nurse cow and bull, so their water isn't frozen. The temperatures aren't quite as cold today, but we've had some light wintry precipitation again. The cats are tiptoeing around and shaking their paws. They say you can tell what kind of winter weather is coming by looking at the wooly worms. I saw one several days ago that was black all over, and another some time ago that was I think black on both ends and tan in the middle. I guess they have differing opinions on what kind of winter to expect. :)
